Cheap Hotels in Naples
Rimini is a small resort town in Emilia-Romagna on Italy's east coast, and a popular tourist destination, bordering the Adriatic Sea. Lying on the part of a coastal stretch that extends from the Po Delta to Cattolica, Rimini has more to offer to the tourists than any other town in the area. Rimini's most important tourist attractions are of course its sun-drenched beaches. Known as La Marina, the beach front, offers ample opportunities for many different activities. This Italian Adriatic town is a great place for families, with plenty of hotels, and many affordable restaurants, cafes and pizzerias, plus plenty to occupy the kids. The city also abounds in nightclubs and bars, and as the sun sets in, the city streets buzz with noise of the bars and pubs.
Rimini is easily accessible and convenient to get around. Rimini and its province can satisfy all kinds of different requirements, thanks to its wide choice of hotels at all levels. There are a lot of hotels and tourist resorts nearby, offering a great variety of accommodation options for the tourists. The bit of Rimini that visitors tend to bypass is old town, but the old town of Rimini is well worth exploring, and there is much of historic interest to see there too. The old town of Rimini is worth exploring: it has several Roman remains and a Renaissance monument, the Tempio Malatestiano, a stunning 15th-century temple, which was built as a memorial tomb for the fourth wife of a powerful local ruler, Sigismondo Malatesta, it contains several pagan motifs, and also has a crucifix by the great artist Giotto. In the heart of Centro storico, away from the seafront and near to the station, the Hotel Napoleon offers attractive facilities furnished in the style of the 1960s.
Rimini boasts 15km of sandy beachfront, divided into numerous private plots, and each of these has its own facilities like beach huts, sun umbrellas, loungers etc. In the Marina Centro, towards the lighthouse, you will find the Biancamano hotel, Villa Lalla, and the luxurious Milton hotel, which is part of the Best Western chain of hotels. Or stay at Rimini's best known hotel, the five-star Grand - Parco Federico Fellini - which opened in 1908 and was immortalised in Federico Fellini's films. This is a hotel with extensive grounds and an exclusive private beach, awesome rooms and several restaurants. Up the coast on Via Regina Elena parallel to the Murri seafront, you will also find the following hotels: Le Rose, an apartment hotel, Regina Elena 57, which is situated in a building from the early 1900s, and Hotel Primalba, which has its own garden and swimming pool.
One of the downsides to the great success that Rimini has had as a seaside resort is probably that this has overshadowed not only the historic city of Rimini, but also the big number of other beautiful towns and sites nearby, which are also worth visiting. Riccione, a city created as a holiday paradise, also offers an good choice of hotels, most of which are located on the sea, the Adlon, Dory, and Paris; and the same is also true of the other holiday resorts on the coast: Cattolica, with the Hotel Astoria, Hotel Maxim, and the Splendid Club House. No visit of Rimini is complete without a trip into its surrounding areas, and in fact you could spend weeks traveling from town to town in this rich and beautiful countryside. The countryside surrounding Rimini is home to several quiet villages that offer a little peace after the more frivolous beachfront. The ancient town of Ravenna with its great frescoes lies just 30 km away while the Republic of San Marino is only 25 km to the west of Rimini, and you can also visit the small but picturesque San Leo en route.
